The definition of erosion is the movement of broken down rock (rock particles) being moved to a new location. It is the movement to a new location though, NOT the landing in a new place. Water Erosion is the movement of rock, that is broken down into small particles. It is moved around to a new location, but is carried by water, which is flowing, and moving around. Once the water has moved the particles away, it leaves the rock, but smaller, and without the particles, because they were carried away.
FACT TO REMEMBER:
The particles are carried by WATER, if you say it was from water erosion.
