LANDSLIDES:
LANDSLIDE:
A landslide is the fast downhill movement of loose soil, rock, dirt, and land. A landslide can be causes by earthquakes, hurricanes, volcanic eruptions, artificial explosions, severe storms, de-forestation, and heavy rainfall. They are the most dangerous type of mass movement. Humans protect themselves, by netting up the mountains, with metal wire, to prevent the rock and soil from falling.
HURRICANES, RAINFALL, SEVERE STORMS:
The rain falling causes the loose land to weigh more, because water has weight, and then the land that was already loose becomes too heavy and looses it’s grip, which causes it to slide down.
DEFORESTATION:
Roots help hold together the soil in the ground. When you get rind of the plants, you are getting rid of the roots. Once you have removed too many plants, the soil and land is loose. Sooner or later, it will slide down, and you will have your landslide, since the land lost its grip.
VOLCANIC ERRUPTIONS/ ARTIFICIAL EXPLOSIONS:
Once the land is already loose, the push, and sudden force from the blow of the explosion, causes the land to completely loose grip, and slide.
